For the past 14 years, we have worked collaboratively with over 200 artists and arts organizations in developing, designing, and producing high-quality book and box editions.

    
                                   



Below are the services we currently offer.
                                           





CONSULTING 


Helping you navigate the book world and your place in it—support in your pursuit of publishing, production, material choices, binding options, etc. $250 / hour OR flat rate of $5,000 to consult you from start to finish through a project.  






PRE-PRESS, FILE SUPPORT


Helping you generate files that are ready for printing / sewing / binding.$150 / hour OR flat rate of $1,000 for production prep from completed InDesign or PDF file.





COMPLETE BOOK DESIGN

Includes consulting, pre-press, full book design and layout.
For artists/individuals: $8,000 (includes three draft revisions, $750 each after the third)

For institutions with annual budgets of under $2M: $10,000  (includes three draft revisions, $750 each after the third)

For institutions with annual budgets of over $2M: $17,500 (includes three draft revisions, $750 each after the third)


For physical bound prototypes representing complete design: $1,000 each + material costs


PROJECT DEVELOPMENT / PROTOTYPING



Includes consulting, structural design, and the first prototype of your book or special edition object.
Consulting, Concept Development, Structural Design + First Prototype: $8,000 + material costs

Second Prototype: $2,500 + material costs

Third Prototype: $2,500 + material costs

Each subsequent prototype: $5,000 + material costs

We are a publishing imprint, bindery, and space where learning happens. We provide resources and guidance for those designing, making and publishing books.

In Fall of 2026, we will expand our offerings to include residencies at our new location in Mendocino, California.

Our business efforts, while diverse, are all inspired by what can be learned and gained from understanding the labor and conditions in books and publishing. Starting with demystifying the bookmaking process, our approaches lend openness and customization to each artist’s goals for pursuing the books they wish to see in the world. When collaborating with us in any capacity, it starts with understanding the labor at hand and then pursuing a path that addresses the goals of each artist.
